Experience:

Dr Heath was Head Catchment Management Planning for Rand Water before joining PHD in June 2000. Dr Heath was responsible for various aspects of catchment strategic planning, environmental auditing and assessment of the potential impacts on the environment. Prior to this, Dr Heath was Head Hydrobiology at Rand Water where he was responsible for the running of an analytical facility and quality control of potable water produced, biological monitoring and the implementation of ISO 14001. Dr Heath has 8 years of experience as the Senior Project Manager in the Water Quality Information Systems Programme at the Division of Water Technology at the CSIR. Dr Heath has also worked as a lecturer and conducted several Zoological research projects.

Mr JOHANNES VAN DER WALT

Mr vd Walt is well qualified in environmental sciences He is also a qualified Landscape Architect, and specialises in the environmental aspect, doing Environmental Impact Assessments. He has also had exposure at BKS as far as scoping EIA's are concerned with the construction and upgrading of Wastewater Treatment Works, which also entails the relevant licence application and Local Authorisation processes at stake.

Experience:

Principal Scientist at PHD, Senior Geologist at Harmony Gold Mine where Dr Zhao managed all the geological aspects of the two major mining sections at Cooke 3 Shaft. As a Research Associate at the Department of Geology, University of the Witwatersrand, Dr Zhao gained experience in ore resource evaluation and environmental and water resource assessment and management. In his capacity as a Senior Geologist for Gold Fields, Dr Zhao was involved in gold mine geology, and ore resource evaluation.
